A senior priest of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA) informs Orthodoxy in Dialogue that the Holy Synod is preparing to release a document which states, in part:

We believe the human being is created as a psychosomatic unity. The body therefore is not a mere accessory to the soul, but definitive of the person together with the soul. We consequently reject utterly its mutilation in the service of a perceived mismatch of gender; neither, sadly, can we in conscience admit to the holy Chalice any who, unrepentant, are or have been engaged this process.

To say that we are appalled by this complete disregard for scientific, medical, and psychological advances in the understanding and treatment of gender dysphoria, and by the Synod’s complete dereliction of its pastoral duty to formulate a ministry based on the actual facts of the actual lives of actual transgender children of God created in His image and likeness, is an understatement of the highest magnitude. 

The archpastors and pastors of the OCA and other member jurisdictions of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America are strongly urged to see our “Transgenderism” Isn’t a Thing, for starters.

A question for the Holy Synod: Why is it that you cannot bring yourselves to condemn and break communion with the most murderous, indeed genocidal patriarch in Orthodox history while you rush to break communion with transgender Orthodox Christians who have never harmed anyone? How will you answer before the dread judgment seat of Christ?
