✠
Thy Nativity, O Christ our God, has shone on the world the Light of knowledge,
for by it, those who worshipped the stars were taught by a star to adore Thee, the Sun of righteousness,
and to know Thee, the Sunrise from on high!
O Lord, glory to Thee!
✠
Today the Virgin gives birth to the Transcendent One,
and the earth offers a cave to the Unapproachable One!
Angels with shepherds glorify Him!
Wise men journey with a star!
Since for our sake the Pre-Eternal God is born as a little Child!
✠
On this, the great feast of the Birth of Our Lord, God, and Saviour Jesus Christ in human flesh from the womb of His Most-Pure Mother, the Most-Holy Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, we greet our brothers, sisters, and friends in Christ everywhere around the world, our readers and followers, our writers, those who love us and those who hate us, those who have sinned against us and those against whom we have sinned, those who consider us their friends and those who consider us their enemies. Christ is born! Glorify Him!
We wish to thank those who responded to our 4th Annual Christmas Appeal to Feed the Homeless: Grayson Alexander from the United States, Ioana Bertrand from Canada, Yvette Cuny from the United States, Dawn Drake from the United States, Theodoros Lambros from Australia, Father Sean Andrew Lotz from the United States, Grace Monk from the United States, Esther Robinson from the United States, Ihor Romaniuk from the United States, Giacomo Sanfilippo from Canada, Monica Spoor from the Netherlands, Maria Tsikerdanos from the United States, an Anonymous Donor from Finland, an Anonymous Donor from Canada, and an Anonymous Donor from the United States. Although the number of donors fell far short of our many previous appeals since Christmas 2017, your kindness of heart has enabled us not only to put $20 into the hands of many homeless persons on the streets of downtown Toronto, but also to purchase desperately needed medicines for a young man gravely ill with Covid in Ukraine and to pay the school fees for a priest’s teenage son in Uganda. The Lord bless you richly for stepping forward as cheerful givers.
May Christ be born anew in the manger of our hearts. May He fill us to overbrimming with joy and with love for Him, and for every neighbour in Him, on this holiest of days and throughout the new year.
Christ is born! Glorify Him!
