PATRONS OF ORTHODOXY IN DIALOGUE: A PASCHAL APPEAL

resurrection-gloriousicon-1000-

Dear brothers, sisters, and friends in Christ,

Christ is risen! Indeed He is risen!

I greet you all during this Paschal season with a humble appeal to consider joining the Patrons of Orthodoxy in Dialogue. Patrons can be listed by name and place of residence, anonymously and place of residence, by name and in memory of a departed loved one, or anonymously in memory of a departed loved one. Check the Patrons page to see how we have listed our current Patrons.

Donations to date have ranged from $25 to $1200. In the spirit of the Gospel we list our Patrons in alphabetical order without publishing the amounts of the contributions: the brother or sister who gives $25 is valued no less than the one who gives $1200. Unfortunately we are unable to issue charitable tax receipts.

If you wish to make an offering, you can access me on PayPal at peterjsanfilippo@rocketmail.com (Peter being the other name by which I am known). If you reside in Canada, you can send an interac e-transfer to me at peterjsanfilippo@gmail.com. Be sure to include a note indicating how you wish to be listed on the Patrons page.

The annual costs of maintaining Orthodoxy in Dialogue are coming due soon. While these are admittedly not onerous, spring and summer are a terrible time for me financially as a PhD student, as we are expected to work at our program year-round while our funding is dreadfully inadequate to get through twelve months. So I wish to be honest and transparent in letting you know that much of your support will go to me personally, as awkward as it is for me to admit it.

At least 10% of what I receive will be given away on the streets of Toronto in the form of almsgiving.

Undoubtedly Orthodoxy in Dialogue publishes things with which you agree and disagree. Yet I hope you see and support the value in the dialogue itself, so essential to a healthy, living, vibrant Orthodox Church as we struggle together as brothers and sisters to meet the challenges and questions of the time and place in which God has placed us.

Of course, whether you are able to contribute or not, I cherish your prayers for me and for Orthodoxy in Dialogue before the throne of our risen Lord and Saviour.

With love in Christ risen from the dead, your unworthy brother and fellow servant of God,

Giacomo Sanfilippo, Editor
